The main character of this book is Mia who is the princess of Genovia. She lives with her father and her grandmother. Her father gets cancer and her grandmother gives Mia "princess lessons" - her grandmother teaches Mia how to speak and act like a princess. Mia loves Michael, but her grandmother wants to destroy my love life because she doesn't like Michael. She doesn't like Michael because he is not a member of a royal family.
